Our cofounders formed the company after recognizing the need for high-quality resume services that professionals could trust their careers with.

James Cooper, BCom
Cofounder, Resume Writer
James began his career as a Recruiting Specialist with AECOM where he screened and interviewed thousands of internal applicants across multiple divisions including civil engineering, IT, accounting, and finance. James discovered that otherwise qualified candidates were frequently rejected from interview opportunities due to poorly written resumes.
He transitioned to independent career consulting in 2012 where he provided local writing services in the Edmonton area, while maintaining and growing a national and international list of clients from the US, UK, Asia, and Australia.
Since 2012, James has been writing resumes for Canadian, US, and international job seekers from all backgrounds.
James currently lives in Edmonton, Alberta and spends his time between family, managing the business, and engaging with his clients. You can some of the articles he has written on our Career Blog.

Alex Khamis, B.Sc.,
Cofounder, Business Manager, Resume Writer
Alex began his career as a scientist in the environmental services industry, overseeing environmental assessment projects in Western Canada.

While his formal training is in the sciences, he has 10 years of experience in technical writing and business communications. In 2019, he cofounded Final Draft Resumes, leveraging his diverse and powerful background in science, engineering, and communications to bolster the company’s knowledge-base in these fields and provide technically accurate and high-impact career documents.

In addition to running day-to-day operations, Alex provides subject matter expertise, writing, and editing services to clients with technical backgrounds and to-date has directly written and edited over 350 resumes.

James and Alex, our cofounders, are also our resume writers, with over 20 years of combined experience in recruiting and business communications. They've collectively reviewed and written thousands of resumes and have a deep understanding of what hiring managers look for.

Why are your prices higher than those of some other services?
Our fees represent the time and effort we put into each client's resume, from the initial consultation phone call, research and analysis, writing process, and revisions, we typically spend 7 to 10 hours on a resume.

You'll get to work with your writer throughout the entire writing process. We never outsource our services to other writers.
