I'm Alex, founder of Final Draft Resumes and Certified Professional Resume Writer.

My background is in professional communications. I spent the first decade of my career in technical writing in the science and engineering sector before moving into executive career documents full-time.

Since 2019, I've personally supported over 1,400 senior professionals and executives across more than 50 industries and almost every continent, to build resumes and CVs that earn interviews at the highest levels.

I take careers that are difficult to distill and turn them into clear, logical narratives for hiring teams. The clients who find me tend to have layered backgrounds, unconventional trajectories, or leadership stories that don't fit into a template.

Every client works directly with me, I don't use questionnaires, and I don't hand off work to other writers. We start with a conversation, and I write your resume personally from that foundation. I intentionally work alone because I want to be in full control of the work I put out, and because of that, I take on a limited number of clients every week; "intentionally small" is my game.

Frequently Asked Questions

For a lot of people, you shouldn't. If you're early in your career and your history is straightforward, an AI tool will get you something usable. I built one myself (Resumatic), so I'm not anti-AI.

Things change at the senior level. AI works from what you type into it, and most senior professionals are poor narrators of their own careers. You'll describe what you were responsible for and skip stuff like the situation you walked into, what you changed, and what happened because of it.

That's what the interview is for. I ask the questions you wouldn't think to answer on your own. A recent client, a VP of Operations, described a role change as a lateral move and almost left it off entirely. Ten minutes of conversation revealed it was the point where he took over a failing business unit and turned it around. That underpinned his entire resume. No prompt would have found it, because he didn't know it was the story.

So the answer is that AI can produce a resume. What it can't do is interview you, weigh which of your 15 accomplishments matters for this specific target, or know how a hiring committee reads a document at your level. That judgment is what you're paying for.
